TGIF #36

TGIf is hosted by the wonderful Ginger over @ GReads!

Authors Are Our Celebrities:  Have you ever contacted an author you admired?  How did that experience go?  If not, which author would you love to have a chat with?

I haven’t contacted anyone as of recent other than a few tweets but I vaguely remember writing a letter (yes, an actual letter that was mailed with a stamp!!) to Katherine Applegate.  Back in the day she wrote a series called “Making Out” and there was about 30 books in it.  They were about a group of teenagers living on an island near Maine. (Though I’m not 100% on all the details but give me a break since the last book in the series came out 14 years ago. :P)  Running with that I guess I was about 13 or 14 when I wrote the actual letter since I wrote it before the series was finished.  I remember asking her if the books were based on an actual place because I wanted to visit.  I do know she wrote something back and sent me a signed bookmark but God knows where that is if I still have it.  I do like that in today’s world some of my favorite authors are just a tweet away and I still get all fangirly if they respond back.

I love how Twitter makes it easier to interact with authors. And a lot of them are SO NICE!
