Fox Forever Blog Tour: Guest Post by Mary E Pearson

FoxForever_BlogTour

Hello and welcome to my stop on the Fox Forever Blog Tour!

In Fox Forever we are given the conclusion to the sci-fi series that so many of us have come to love but just in case you haven’t started the series here is a little recap (with links to my reviews):

jfThe Adoration of Jenna Fox

Who is Jenna Fox? Seventeen-year-old Jenna has been told that is her name. She has just awoken from a coma, they tell her, and she is still recovering from a terrible accident in which she was involved a year ago. But what happened before that? Jenna doesn’t remember her life. Or does she? And are the memories really hers?

fiThe Fox Inheritance

Once there were three. Three friends who loved each other—Jenna, Locke, and Kara. And after a terrible accident destroyed their bodies, their three minds were kept alive, spinning in a digital netherworld. Even in that disembodied nightmare, they were still together. At least at first. When Jenna disappeared, Locke and Kara had to go on without her. Decades passed, and then centuries.

Two-hundred-and-sixty years later, they have been released at last. Given new, perfect bodies, Locke and Kara awaken to a world they know nothing about, where everyone they once knew and loved is long dead.

Everyone except Jenna Fox.

FFFox Forever

Locke Jenkins has some catching up to do. After spending 260 years as a disembodied mind in a little black box, he has a perfect new body. But before he can move on with his unexpected new life, he’ll have to return the Favor he accepted from the shadowy resistance group known as the Network.

Locke must infiltrate the home of a government official by gaining the trust of his daughter, seventeen-year-old Raine, and he soon finds himself pulled deep into the world of the resistance—and into Raine’s life.

Without further delay let’s welcome Ms Pearson the creator of the Fox Chronicles!  For my stop on the tour I was able to choose any page of Fox Forever that I might want more insight on and she provided us with some insider scope!

Excerpt from Pg 65 of Fox Forever (Book III of The Jenna Fox Chronicles) when Locke meets Raine in the Boston Commons late at night:
“What brought you here?”
Her voice is soft and genuine, and I can’t deny I’m taking in the transformation of her appearance as well. The hardness is gone there too.
I see the beautiful Raine I saw last night on the rooftop, her hair loose on her shoulders and her movements relaxed. But I remember her sweeping disdain earlier this evening and remember too that chess is one of her hobbies. Is this a calculated move? I can’t forget that there was something about her picture in the file that disturbed me. LeGru’s words come back to me.Trust your first instincts. But I’m not sure what those instincts were telling me. I rely on my own new motto instead: Watch your back, Locke.
Mary:
Poor Locke has so many things going against him and he’s been hurt and betrayed so many times he’s become a bit jaded.  As he says, his motto has become all about protecting himself.  But sometimes we can protect ourselves too much.  Even though he finds Raine very attractive, he’s afraid of her too—for a lot of reasons I don’t want to give away—but to get to know her he is going to have to take off a bit of his protective armor, and for someone like Locke who has been through so much, that is a sheer act of bravery.
Thanks for having me at your blog, Kristina!
I hope your readers will find out just what Locke has to do, and how much armor he’s willing to peel off in order to fulfill his promise to the Network.
Thanks to Mary for stopping by and giving us a little taste of Fox Forever!!!
