Announcing That’s What They Said!

That’s What They Said is a feature we’ve been toying around with starting here at Gone Pecan (In fact I checked the date I started this post and it was in October, LOL) and we’ve finally finalized the details. Back when we started the blog (ok maybe we still do) we each posted predominantly either YA (myself) or women’s fiction (Daphne) but every now and then something would intrigue both of us so from time to time we would post reviews as “She Said/She Said” where one of us would write a full review and the other would add her two cents in the form of a mini review tagged on at the end.  Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don’t.  We thought why not expand on that idea.  From that thought, That’s What They Said was born.

Want to know how its going to work?

How will you feature each book?

Both Daphne and I will write up an “Overall Thoughts” on each book we feature since our opinions generally differ quite a bit.  We will also feature a “Memorable Texts/Emails” section where we will include funny or interesting things we’ve discussed about the book because honestly who doesn’t send crazy emails, tweets, or texts about books?

What type of books will you review?

Anything we agree on!  We both read YA and women’s fiction and are open to contemporary, fantasy, historical, basically anything that jumps out at us.  Variety is the spice of life people!

Will there be giveaways?

Sometimes.  🙂

How often will you post TWTS?

When we feel like it.  What does that mean?  That means we could post five in one month but skip the next two months.  We want this to be a laid back feature but regardless of how often we post we will post reviews within +/- one month of the actual publication date.

So what do you guys think?  We hope to hear back from everyone as we start posting reviews under this feature.  Based on what we are working with our first TWTS review should be sometime in March or April. 🙂

Hooray for a new feature ladies! I think it’s always fun to collaborate with other people on things, so to be able to do something this awesome with your co-blogger is pretty darn cool to me. Can’t wait for your future posts!

Sounds like a fun, new feature. It’s always amazing to me to see how differently two people can feel about the same book!

That’s why we want to switch it up a bit. Sometimes we are completely different pages. Thanks for stopping by!

This is great. Can’t wait to see what you both think. Diana and I agree way too often to make this worth reading on our site 😉

This sounds really fun! I look forward to seeing what books y’all discuss 🙂 And I like the “Memorable Texts/Emails” section since some of my favorite book discussions happen offline when you’re texting or emailing someone.
