Scarlet’s true identity has been revealed, but her future is uncertain. Her forced marriage to Lord Gisbourne threatens Robin and Scarlet’s love, and as the royal court descends upon Nottingham for the appointment of a new Sheriff, the people of Nottingham hope that Prince John will appoint their beloved Robin Hood. But Prince John has different plans for Nottingham that revolve around a fateful secret from Scarlet’s past even she isn’t yet aware of. Forced to participate at court alongside her ruthless husband, Scarlet must bide her time and act the part of a noblewoman—a worthy sacrifice if it means helping Robin’s cause and a chance at a future with the man she loves.

Other Books in Series: Scarlet
Scarlet – I definitely see her as Scarlet, not Marian which to me says a lot about how everyone sees her in the book and what side you might fall on.
Allan – LOVED HIM. Why didn’t we have more?!
Robin – I liked him, but I’m still not loving him. I think unless we get A LOT of Robin time in LH or a few chapters in his POV his status might stay at like for me.
I definitely see why so many people had issues with all or part of the book. There were quite a few tough scenes that did make me debate on putting the book down at times but I am happy that I pushed through and kept on till the end. Also, to me it makes the story more real in my eyes, they might get a happy ending (or will they?) but the road there isn’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, BUT that could be that I was anxious to find out what was going on and was rushing through so I can only blame myself for that, LOL. I loved the progression on the story as a whole but as for the “reveal” (no spoilers I promise) I would have liked a bit more background information (something else I’m hoping to see that the final book.) Solid second book in the series, definitely worth the read.
