Hello and thank you for stopping by Gone Pecan as part of the This Adventure Ends blog tour!
Sloane isn’t expecting to fall in with a group of friends when she moves from New York to Florida—especially not a group of friends so intense, so in love, so all-consuming. Yet that’s exactly what happens.
Sloane becomes closest to Vera, a social-media star who lights up any room, and Gabe, Vera’s twin brother and the most serious person Sloane’s ever met. When a beloved painting by the twins’ late mother goes missing, Sloane takes on the responsibility of tracking it down, a journey that takes her across state lines—and ever deeper into the twins’ lives.
Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed.

Today I’m lucky enough to participate in the blog tour for This Adventure Ends. A lovely contemporary that was just absolutely beautiful both inside and out. (Review to come shortly on the blog so check back!) As part of the tour I’m hosting our author Emma Mills for a guest post about her inspirations behind TAE.
How did you research the art in This Adventure Ends and what pieces inspired you?
When I was a kid, my family vacationed in a small town in northern Florida called Seagrove Beach. There were a lot of galleries and studios in the surrounding areas, and I always loved looking at the art. These locations and some of the art shown there—dynamic, colorful, and beach-themed paintings— helped inspire the art in This Adventure Ends. I also kept in mind a trip to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago I took in college when thinking up some of the more contemporary works described later in the book.
Want to follow the tour? It will be running through 10/04/16 and you can find links to all of the other wonderful blogs participating!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out some (or all) of the other blogs!
